A dhapi' initiation ceremony for a Djinba boy in north-central Arnhem Land. Djinang-, Djinba- and Burarra-speaking clanspeople participated in this ceremony, which reached its conclusion on the final day with the circumcision of the young boy (Dhuwa moiety).

Powerful scene of men enacting shark, after the circumcision of the boy. Actual 'cutting' scene is not shown, nor other sensitive or restricted material.

Notice the distinct difference in the language spoken by the two men (Djinang and Ganalbingu) towards the end of the clip, compared to the more common variety of Yolngu Matha (Dhuwal', Dhuwaya', Dhuwala') in the east (Yirrkala, Galiwin'ku, Gapuwiyak etc.)?

  • i believe i discovered early in my sexual life what a foreskins purpose is and cant understand why nobody gets it... next time ur about to have sex with your woman and she is a little 'dry' just pull the skin all the way foreward and place the tip at the opening and inline with the vaginal passage. insertion is made easy because the foreskin creates an extension of the vaginal canal and the penis can be inserted at least an inch before any friction is felt to either party..circumcision is dumb!

  • @bsercoe too much info!

  • its calld fukin culture and its not barbaric or there is nuffin sexualy bout it u dnt no

  • thank you, amen!

  • Heh, show the circumcision part.

    Everyone's opinons will quickly change!

    Absolutely barbaric.

But finally the government is cracking down on this sexual abuse.

  • I think you're a bit confused there... how is circumcision barbaric or considered as sexual abuse?

  • @Cre8iveSignWorks.... I absolutely agree. My uncle had it removed, I got to know an old white Aussi, he had his removed in same sort of initiation. Honestly I wouldn´t know what I would do now for myself... I would think about it if I was asked to if wished to go through initiation.

I regard this kind of initiation more valuable then other funny white practices we have....

  • @ZZZushi - The only reason people like you cant deal with the idea of circumcision is that yer scared of getting yer fucking throats cut! Idiot!

  • get over it people!....circumcision is way healthier and easier to keep clean (especially where you are living in a dusty, dirty environments, like the bush). there is nothing wrong with it at all. besides, its been part of culture around the world for thousands of years. i knew a guy who had to have his removed at age 23 because of health reasons.

circumcision dropped off (so to speak) in the 90s but now they are going back to circumcising babies for very good reasons.

  • @bsercoe I believe that No foreskin is Is just as Good. At least she don't have to peal back the "skin" to find the goods....

With me is what you see, Is what you get.

But I was done before i knew pain.

wouldn't want to be after the age of 3yrs old.

    you'd remember everything hay..............................?

  • I'm not allowed to watch this...

Please put a Warning on it before you exhibit this among Australia..

Not offensive, Just I need warning as it may cause Bad Carma on others......

  • @ZZZushi circumcision is barbaric when other races do but when white people such as the jews do it, its ok?

  • @ZZZushi Because they want it to?

  • @ Sawnia... you comments show how idiotic you are... save for the Jews all white people knew nothing about circumcision ....Africans on the other hand have circ'd for centuries. cir' probably originated in Africa..it is depicted in old scrolls found in Egypt. My people have done it since time immemorial before any missionary stepped in East Africa... no missionary came to tell us about it.... so shut your foul beak.
