Dist 22 was dispatched to Lambs Road for a reported building fire shortly before 5 pm, Mantua pd arrived and reported heavy fire Div A. Gloucester County upgraded the box to the all hands as command arrived. Companies made an aggressive attack on the fire which had already spread to the roof area of the building. Crews were forced to exterior operations due to the condition of the vacant building. About a third of the way into the incident a mayday was called and the RIC was activated for a firefighter down in the building. Crews were able to remove him and BLS provided medical care to such, the firefighter is ok and was able to walk to rehab to recover. Crews continued their exterior operations and the fire pushed its way through out the roof line making access limited. Companies remained on location through out the night. This was a multi alarm box with numerous special calls including Gloucester County Task Force 3 for the cover. County Fire Marshals & County Prosecutors Office on location for the investigation. This location is a DEP cleanup site of a former commercial property.
