GLENDALE, Ariz. -- In his first postseason, Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald has put his name alongside some of the greatest receivers in the game.

Fitzgerald's three touchdown catches in Sunday's 32-25 win over Philadelphia for the NFC title matched the most in any conference championship game. Gary Collins of Cleveland did it against Baltimore in 1964 and Preston Pearson of Dallas matched that against the Los Angeles Rams in 1975.

Fitzgerald's most impressive record is one that he's sure to add to in the Super Bowl. His 419 yards receiving are the most for any player in one postseason in NFL history, surpassing the 409 set by Jerry Rice of San Francisco in 1988.

And he joined Tom Fears of Los Angeles (1950-51), Rice (1988-89) and Randy Moss of Minnesota (1999-2000) as the only receivers to top 100 yards receiving in three straight playoff games.

Counting the regular season, Fitzgerald has topped 100 yards receiving in five straight games.

  • someone should explain to McNabb that how the playoffs work. He probably doesn't know that they're done for the season (and the rest of his career for that matter). Someone should tell him the rules so he doesn't think he has a game to play next week...moron.

  • lol. true. i think he has about 2 more seasons in him

  • I'm not a Cardinal fan but I'm glad to see a different team going to Super Bowl.

  • yeah we are too. Please subscribe and tell your fellow youtuber's

  • And we can all now laugh at that putz Steve Young who said he didn't think the Card's were for real...

  • yeah.lol

  • Cardinals did win Super Bowl 43 and every dirty fucking ref on that field knows it. Santino Holmes was out and there is no doubt about it. Every single day I think what if, and it makes me sad on the inside. Botched calls like that prove all the refs are in the Steelers pockets.

  • cardinals should have won 43

  • the cardinals are going for championship no. 3. people seem to think american football was invented at the same time as super bowl was. well not even super bowl 1 to 3 was called that so why not discredit the packers and jets too. i am a afl-afc raider fan but lets face facts. its the nfl championship first and the s.b. name on it is just a marking gimmick so dont discredit past champions.

  • There are lots of things the Bidwills haven't done right in the 75 years they've owned the team (for instance, failing to sign their first round pick from 1965; then again, you have the AFL-NFL bidding war, as well as the New York Jets, to thank for that)!

  • The Football Cardinals had some very talented players back then that it's a shame that didn't make the Super Bowl. One of Bill Bidwell's big mistake was firing Don Coroyell after they went 500. and it was after that move the team went down hill.

  • My stepmom's side of the family were all Cardinals fans back in the day (both baseball AND football Cardinals), because they were based in St. Louis (I never inherited the same team loyalties, though, since I'm from San Antonio and was raised a Cowboys fan, and never really cared for baseball until recently). One St. Louis (NFL) Cardinal from the 70s I really thought was interesting was Conrad Dobler, because I heard he was a VERY dirty player

  • Don't forget that the Cards were in St.Louis and were nickname The Big Red or Cardiac Cardinals in 1970's when they had Jim Hart, Dan Dierdorf, Mel Gray, Terry Metcaft. In the 80's they had Neil Lomax, Pat Tilley, Ottis Anderson, Roy Green, Freddie Joe Nunn, Stump Mitchell & Earl Ferrell.

  • Speaking of Chicago...did you know the Cardinals were originally from that city?

  • go bears
