Listen to the reverberation at the beginning of "Hosanna." This might be my favorite pieces of music. This, and the Hindemith Symphony for winds. I love atonal music :)

dies irae for me is awesome and suitably haunting. well done sarah.

@donaldrose Most of Mozart's music sounds pretty similar, too

first time i heard the start of this song, years ago, i thought it was from Cats lol

I remember when this came out, I heard much criticism. One NY critic claimed that all Lloyd-Jones' music sounded the same. Well so do most composers except perhaps Mozart. It is called finding your style!
Anyway, I predicted that this piece of music will still be heard in 200 years, 30 years later it is still great and going strong.
Time for a new version. Maybe Villazon singing the tenor role?

Hosanna is my favorite part of this concert as well. Placido Domingo rocking out! It's high time more "serious" composers started using drum kits in an orchestra. Quite an amazing instrument when you think about it, compared to occasional snare rat-at-tat or timpani roll you usually hear with orchestra.
I'm sorry to say I loathe show music or musical theater, but Webber's Requiem is stunning.

Hosanna ... very similar to the time of the cats ... where they dance! Jelly Cats ... so in my opinion is!), too, a lot of enharmonic modulations!)))

I agree with you Emily. One's opinion is important.
Best wishes
