Ok. I hope so. That robot panda thing just annoyed a bit. It's like she brings it on the ring just to make fun of her oppenent and she came only for fun, while Pai has precise objectives and trained a lot (as she says in her intro pose) after losing the VF4 tournement. It's just too different from the image I have of her. I think u wouldn't appreciate as well, if, for ex. Kage was to loose his ninja spirit and start speaking like Jean...

... Obviously u're not a Pai user/fan...
Of course Sega want to make monney that's why they made they put more fan service, I just hope they won't over do it like for DOA.
Yu Suzuki said he wanted to make a game dedicated to martial arts, basically, so too much fancy is unwelcomed. He said he likes games that suit to reality.

Um...LOL? Look at Lau's win poses please. I understand Japanese quite well, being part Japanese myself. Lau talks of how people aren't at his level, how they are weak and how they can't stand up to his Koenken. Sounds like arrogance to me. Anyways, quit complaining about the "character" changes. Sega will still be making money.

I hope that it is only a BONUS winning pose that u can freely activate by presssing a combination of buttons like in VF4 evolution.
Pai is supposed to be a cool character with a strong martial spirit (Look at her VF4 poses and intros).
We already have a lolita character, Eileen who sounds like a 10 years old kid while she's 17 for lolicon fans (most japanese?), I don't want Pai to represent the high school girl type character for more low fan service.

The language Pai uses here is just... "bichy language". She sounds like any stupid blond haired 15 years old fashion victim in your middle school class. That's why it doesn't suits her at all.
There's many other ways to tell ur oppenent that he didn't stand a chance without bichy talking and stupid teddy-panda.

"Pai is pretty much trying to win the respect and affection of her father, so she's kinda adapting to how he has his arrogant personality"
Lol. No, u're not at it, if u could understand japanese u would also understand that Lau speaks like someone experienced, he speaks the way of a teacher and a martial artist that have absolute confidence in his abilities.

I don't mind the changes because I can EASILY see that Sega is trying to give the VF crew some "character". Plus, character wise, Pai is pretty much trying to win the respect and affection of her father, so she's kinda adapting to how he has his arrogant personality.
As for the VF beach game, the closest thing to that is Sega Beach Spikers lol, which is pretty fun and WAY better than the DOA one.
It's 8 seconds of animations most likely linked to a bonus item YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO EQUIP.
Sega is not stupid, they know they're gameplay is solid, and need to keep that arcade money comin' in.
That's why more recent characters are more anime-like in nature, that's why you're seeing such exotic costume options, that's why MIKU HATSUNE is available as an item.
They know their roots and acknowledge the culture they work for and are most likely even part of.
Besides, it's VF. Not DOA.

I am a Pai user, fan...not really. I'm a Kage/Sarah/Jeffry fan :) But seriously though, we both can agree on this: Sega will NOT go the DOA route with VF. DOA just went on a ridiculous path, and it was evident when they made those beach games (I call it Beach Sluts X). Yu Suzuki did make a game dedicated to martial arts. You'll see no flaming punches or fireballs ever in this game, but there's a reason why these "cutesy" things are win POSES and not special attacks. Yes, it is fan service.
