A quicker method I found is in the same area. Collect surrounding studs (so you don't end up collecting them in your last run), and then just let the guards keep killing you. Best place to stand is at the top of the ramp (just to the right of the key you have to turn) so when you die all the studs fall downwards meaning you won't end up picking up a whole load again. Hope that helps!

It's interesting that he chose that specific location, since the origin of the name come from when they catch Jack in that same location after rescuing Elizebeth, and find that all he has is a wooden sword, one-shot gun, and a broken compass, in whih Norrington remarks "I have got to be the worst pirate I have ever heard of!". Jack's reply of "But you HAVE heard of me?" to be the best part of that whole scene!
