This video just shows me mixing using the Allen & Heath Xone:4D in conjunction with Ableton Live whilst blinding myself under a UV light I bought.

  • Hey DougieJones, GREAT MIX - I have the same setup but having problems with getting ableton effects run through the 4D, up to now, ive had 3 audio tracks on each side of the 4D, 3 A tracks running to 1/2, and 3 B tracks running to 3/4...I have had to use the fourth fader on each side for an fx send volume, but its not really a solution as you can still hear the track without the effect in the background. How do you get route ableton effects on the 4D? HELP PLEASE!!!

  • @seangoldcamp Hey mate, thanks for the comment! Glad that you enjoyed it! Sounds like you're suffering from quite a complex problem with the 4D though to be honest - what Ableton effects are you trying to use?

  • I want to see this video upside down!

  • @cparker87 Hi mate, my UV light is in storage at the moment unfortunately but once I get it back I'll try to remember to record another video the other way round for you. It might be some time before I get hold of it again though unfortunately!

  • I bet he will never be happy. He will be modifying that shit until his

machine burns out. Can't get it right or what? hah The thing is is the human brain gets tired of the same shit over and over again, so by constantly modifying the settings it keeps the listener intrigued. Then again if you just put more dynamics into the beat itself, the beat itself would keep you more intrigued.

  • @screamindemon6x I can see your point mate however there's nothing wrong about searching for perfection even if it does take a lot of time. I do agree though that it's important to keep things fresh so that people remain intrigued. When it comes to making records from scratch this can be done by spending time making interesting beats/sounds and with regard to DJ-ing it can be achieved by keeping up to date with new releases.
