So sorry to have taken a long time to get back to your e-mails -- I am still in the process of doing so and I haven't forgotten! Hope you are doing well, the new yorker piece on healthcare reform by Atul Gawande I talk about is here: http://www.newyorker.com/talk/comment/2010/04/05/100405taco_talk_gawande
Conferences free for medical school students (and undergrad I presume) include the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Physicians and many more! Just do a google search to see the nearest one to you.

Thanks for your inspirational video clips Jeff!
I have a question -- what's your definition of health? :)

Useless video.

I watch your videos for the intriguing bits of information that you find from medical school experiences but I believe the true value of your videos (for undergrads like myself) are the personal opinions and realizations. A firsthand perspective is invaluable. Thanks for sharing.

good video. there are two kinds of people: those who care and those who don't. you just re-selected your team.
with our mind on human-created machinations we forget quickly and easily that humans are such social animals. being around a different group will change you. we are who we are with.

across multiple disciplines, not just medical, prevention of problems is proven to be more effective and less costly than cure. If we were as smart as we think we are, we'd be spending more time and money on prevention. That includes doctors who are trained to be experts not in prevention.
