Also, where do we put the unclean stuff they strip from the coal? Clearly the "old dirty coal" isnt the same as the "new clean coal" right? So "dirty" stuff is condensed and stored somewhere, right?

CO2 and CO are highly salable chemicals. The padded chair you're probably sitting on has a polyurethane foam cushion in it. Carbon monoxide is one of the components of polyurethane, and carbon dioxide is used as a blowing agent in PUR foam production.

There IS no clean coal, unfortunately nobody in power in the US will admit this because of the influence of the coal industry! Obama supports this non-existent, self-contradictory fallacy as part of a "green" energy policy along with that other canard, corn-based ethanol (which is polluting and inefficient, it costs more energy to produce ethanol than the ethanol itself gives off!).

Keep in mind McCain supported all of this as well. It didn't actually matter who was elected last term...

We rely on it for 49% of our power... What are we going to do with 49% of our power grid blacked out?

Nuclear plants should've been ready now to take the load that coal currently does.
Unfortunately the Greens have done a really good job of scare mongering in this area.
We are in the final days right now.
The politicians either act now or our children are doomed.
Nuclear waste is a problem, but it's a problem that can be isolated to a hole in the ground in our vast, geologically stable desert.Other countries have managed it safely for decades why can't we?
Clever country? what a joke.

Replace it with solar and wind power that an accountable, rational government has invested in on behalf of the American people and the human race.

replace it with newer technology, wind power and solar power togheter form a permanent energy collecting system, or a synergy. and we are able to suply 100% clean energy from solar, wind, biomass and hydrotechnology
