i do the same exact thing. all the "20"dollar knives in my collection could add up to an actual strider knife etc. However, alot of lower priced knives can have some serious quality too. Just have to be smart about it like you said

Since your giving up the purchasing of cheap knives....stick with Boker Plus or Boker....Magnum by Boker is the "value" end. I'm am definitely a fan of Boker. Their factory in Solingen, Germany is awesome. But, hey man good vid.

one good cheapo boker is the groovy, it's got a good detent and real grippy g10 but i do find myself edcing my kershaw a lot more often.

have been trying to decide if i should get this or a spyderco byrd caracara 2 (here in holland they are around same price) think i go for the cara cara tho. any one any thoughts on this?

I purchased one of these 2 weeks ago purely on the looks and have to say I'm pretty happy with it. Bought the only thing I don't like is the very thin liner. Got mine for 12.50 so you can't beat that. It looks and feels good. Good review!

In terms of bang for your buck, it is a very good value. Like you mentioned, if there were a few tweeks to it, it would really stand out.
