  • @KRAFTWERK2K6 Mostly because they don't have the knowledge (and/or money, possibly). ;)

  • Cute, but sort of pointless. Especially because there's more to the "film loook" than just grain. Duh.

  • hehe - that was funny.

  • @SweetFoxC Really..? Have you checked out RED equipment lately? resolution? Or even something as simple as a 5d mkII HD video...? I think you will find that your views fit ca. 2007, not so much anymore.

  • I personally LOVE film grain, but still appreciate the flexibility of modern digital HD cameras, especially for independent film makers.

I cringe every time I see an older movie shot on standard definition DV, back when film makers first experimented with digital photography. In this respect, HD cameras are a gigantic improvement. Interesting commercial though.

  • @memento313 And in 2110 your facilitating cheap video won't playback while my expensive film makes a good............................... memento! Zing! Rimshot!

  • @stickadaggerinhereye Yes because today's Pop culture puts yesterday's to shame.

  • The film is only "expensive" because film companies make less film, because digital is cheaper in cost and quality.

And besides, how much "cheaper," are Digital High Definition D.S.L.Rs with motion picture capabilities?

  • It's funny how people think the continually-being-rendered-obsolete cycle of technology should somehow be dictating all creative choices in popular art.

    Rather than, say, good taste.
