@MrBarelylethal No, I'm sure Stallone was impressed with it -- otherwise he wouldn't have chosen DiCola to score the film. In the liner notes DiCola states that after all was said and done, he'd made enough nods to Bill Conti's original themes, and that this particular piece just didn't fit anywhere in the film.
@EctoJedi So he didn't like it and yet he hired DiCola anyway cause he wanted to make an action movie Rocky film...still seems odd, but who am i to question Stallone, he was right to pick this guy, best soundtrack and one of the best films of all time imo
@stuh1975 This was recorded back in 1985 -- according to the liner notes, it was one of the first pieces Vince DiCola sent to Stallone when he was considering hiring him to score the film. It ended up not being used.
@whatuautado Yeah, this should have been the end credits song, this is nearly as upbeat as the training montage.

The only complaint I ever had with Rocky IV was it didn't have Gonna Fly Now. Had no idea this was out there.. It shoul've been in it!

Vince DeCola is one fantastic music composer. Even better than Bill Conti or the late Henry Mancini with these songs from Rocky IV.

We're lucky to now have it. It's a great track.
