"e" in Italian can be both open (è) like in "let" and closed (é). Bène has an open "e". BTW most of the Italians mispronounce the "è" and the "o" depending on the region they come from.
As for Euridice it seems to me that Mrs Horne pronounces it correctly.

Back to the pronunciation: What about the name Euridice? She sings (as opposed to eg. Pavarotti) Eu... like in English word "Europe". Is it correct?

in fact, now Countertenors are good Falsetists. Most of them could be baritones singing in their " natural voice".
you can see that very clear in theyr speaking voices....

Beautiful voice but I wished she has sung the ben part of "mio ben" correctly. She sang "bahn"

@mradaChris No Chris, she pronounces "ben" absolutely correctly. I'm Italian, trust me! Fantastic voice, by the way.

@oldcrowr I stand corrected! I am only 1/2 Italian :-) My mom was 100%

Anyway most of the ben's are pronounced correctly. Just the last 3 three does she change how she sings them. They are the higher ones. Typically a lot of singers will change the vowel sounds to make the sound prettier.

@oldcrowr Maybe I need a pronunciation lesson! So doesn't the "e" sound like the English "ay"? Can you point me to a place where I can learn how to properly pronounce the vowels?
