It always makes me sad to see the flagship of not just Olympic Airlines, but really of Greece itself, rotting in the old airport like this. It has been vandalized many times over the past years, and hardly anyone bothered about it. I hope the ones who made Olympic Airlines go broke rot behind bars, like they let this one. It and all the other 747s in the fleet have been the pride of Greek aviation for 2 decades and this is the thanks they got from those bastards.

the first greek 747-200 with the nickname "Ολύμπιος Ζεύς".his first flight was in 1973 to n.y and last in 2002.it still remain abandoned in elliniko airport.

I agree!. Sad to just see it sitting there rotting away in the sun. We used to play at the soccer field just in front of the runway and felt like we could almost reach up and touch the incoming aircraft as they passed overhead...
