Never will forget the Mardi Gras in the late 50s when I ran out from the Masonic Temple where we viewed the parades, and when up to Pete (who walked, not rode, then) and told him what a great fan I was! Great memory!
my grandpa is Pete Fountain and my dad's name is Benny Harrell...he is in the cape talking to my grandpa. My brother and husband just walk by briefly with the many other walkers :)
That makes you New Orleans royalty! I'll tag your Dad and, now that I think about it, I should tag your gramps just in case anyone in the world doesn't already know who he is.
Always great to see this group, especially when there's a good shot of Pete Fountain himself!
This years band once again featured wonderful musicians, including Pete Fountain's protoge, the great Tim Laughlin on clarinet, and i believe Connie Jones on trumpet.
As you ask for comments-- having that big text box right in the middle of the screen for most of the video is quite distracting and makes this video, which would otherwise be a treat, hard to watch.
Thanks for letting me know about the text box... that's not where it was supposed to be. I guess it moved after I placed it. I've fixed it and the video should be more enjoyable now... thank again!
