A long overdue update on my massive minecraft project. I've been working on this off and on (mostly off) for awhile now, and I had to start it over in the middle because of a server move, but it is coming along, and looking pretty impressive.

By the way, if it wasn't obvious, I've long since given up on building this "legit" and having it done any time this decade. After hollowing out about a tenth of that massive room with TNT, I finally grabbed the server map and removed the space with MCEdit. And I wouldn't be getting that much diamond and gold and lapis without giving it to myself. If that makes it less impressive to you, that's your problem; I still have to do all the detail work by hand, block by block.

  • I wanted to check with the server owner to make sure he was okay with me directing people there, but for all who are interested in seeing the project up close, you can log in to techmachine (dot) net. Guest privileges are currently very limited, so you can't build anything or open chests or ride minecarts. But if you're interested in joining the server, you can request access on the forums at the same address (currently down, but up soon, I'm told).

  • Are those shiny gray blocks... iron? You made iron walls? lol

  • @EdouardDubois: Heh, the iron train station. Like I said, I can't take credit for it, nor do I want to. I'm all about visual detail. I just can't abide flat, single texture surfaces in my constructions. That makes my fiancee an amazing help, since she's an excellent pixel artist. I floated an idea to her about putting murals on the walls, and two hours later she'd completed five pixelized scenes from the Ring of the Nibelung. My dwarves like Art!

  • Your my hero, iv'e started on something like this a while back, and like you spent most of my time creating giant vast rooms. I ended up getting attacked in a battle we did on my server. Man the battle was epic but i made the mistake of saying it was a destroy all battle my team wasn't the hottest batch of soldiers ever. We ended up getting killed. Barely but they destroyed my dwarven fortress underground with dynamite. We ended up getting them back though by destroying their fortress, nice job!

  • Is this gonna be a large online server if so I would like to help you with this project because no one single man should have to do this himself P.S. when o saw this I pissed my pants! Unbelievable
