My dad was in K company 141st and crossed the Rapido. As a boy he told me the story of the crossing. Thanks for sharing this as it shows me what it looks like now. Thanks to all of the T patches for their service will never be forgotten.

My dad was at the Rapido Crossing he was in the 141st 36th Division Headquarters Company 3rd Batalion. He won 3 bronze stars and a silver star

Canhoom my dad had to know your dad as my dad was in the 141 st headquarters company now there were 3 battalions in the 141st and my dad was in the 2nd and the 3rd battalions

@kay12093 policemen were so kind and recommanded me to visit that bell and the german, commonwealth and the americans or canadian cemetary. pity ... I was lack of time and need to get to Naples on schedule, when I finished the exchange student program and back to Taiwan, i wrote an article about the Battle of Cassino, 34th Red bull and 36th texas shall not be forget, They are true heroes like any others who sacrifice for their faith

Greets and salute from Taiwan, I was in Cassino 2008 Jan. 26 during the travel in Italy while the winter vacation of the exchange student program at Siegen university Germany,however as a part-time writer of a taiwan military magazine,i managed to visit Cassino. climbing the monte cassino on foot was an unforgettable experience,Looked around from the abbey on the mountain,Rapido wasn't wide, it was calm and peaceful,when I back to the cassino city.

Not long ago I wrote an article about the Rapido River crossing and had an opportunity to exchange emails with a number of men who were there. What magnificent soldiers they were. How they fought on side-by-side with their comrades while it must have seemed the whole world was collapsing in upon them. The families and friends of these men should hold their heads high. Let the brave "T-patchers" never be forgotten!
My father was in F-co, 141st, 36th at the Rapido with the 36th. I have been to this monument..My father told me that it was indescribable loss of life. I am proud that you honor your father in this fashion. With deep respect. for your father, mine and all those that were there giving it all they had.

@cahoonm My dear friend, thank your for the note. I try to my best for heritage. Perhaps there is the chance to bring more college students to Cassino (while they are traveling between Rome and Naples). Remembering the past could be useful to built a better future !
