@joexxv Having seen the Korean SF guys doing their PT I agree with the effectiveness of taekwondo. Especially when it's combined with GP boots, a stick, or a bayonet, a rifle or anything else that is handy.

the side kick in taekwon doe probably has the most power of any kick in asian martial arts tho. thats why bruce lee mastered it. check out john makdessi !he does awesome side kick! so does cung le!

Count Pierre IS REALLY FAST! (3.01)

@joexxv If you like it, then do it. Be prepared to get crushed when you fight other styles.

@RocaDeearCenjar most people say taekwondo is a bad martial art... it is because most people do not understand the whole art... It is effective but it depends on the user... the Korean military uses this in training and has proven its effectiveness in combat... and lastly, I tend to not compare martial arts because each has its own philosophy of engagement and movement... again, it all depends on the user...
-
@tonyvalente TKD also has elbows and punches... the focus in sparring and training is usually in the kicks though... even though they are flashy, they can still be effective in MMA... watch vids of serkan yilmaz in K-1.. it all depends on the martial artist...

@RocaDeearCenjar Tae Kwon do only works in TKD. No professional fighter goes to learn TKD to help his fighting. How many UFC, Pride, Strikeforce, K-1 fighters are TKD? there the only system with no boxing or elbows.

I can understand what your saying, but when you say Tae Kwon Do is "bullshit" are you overexagerating? Or is it really that uneffective of a Martial Art.
-
@RocaDeearCenjar Out of all the kicking styles, Bruce Lee choose Savate because tae kwon Do is too flashy, Thai boxing kicks above the waist are too slow and easy to grab. Savate in the street works as well as in the ring with great boxing combos missing in Tae Kwon Do

Please Elborate on your statement. What is it about Savate that you feel makes it better then Tae Kwon Do? I'm not doubting you, I just would like a better understanding of your views.
you can see what an influence savate had on Bruce Lee, the general 'feel' and style of shin, side and round kicks plus the 'fencing' style of movement are underrated in his sythesis of styles..i'd like to learn it properly!

Très bonne vidéo sur le patrimoine Savate. Démonstration de chassé croisé, assauts avec saisie de jambes ;0) et efficacité des chassés en self défense. Sympa !
