I would suggest you not use that gun techinque in real life because you will likely get shot more often than it would work. Also, you should tell your class that the knife technique you presented only works if the attacker is in a full commited attack and not a stand still or jabbing knife. Not doing so will only give them a false sense of security and may get them killed if they attempt to use them incorrectly.

Can you write the steps down as well
I am doing something for my class where I have to research some form of martial arts and a specific skill and I have to write a paper as well as preform that skill to my class. I am a visual learner as well as I need to see it on paper too
thanks

Very good tips to disarm someone. I would like to see some pointers on how to deal with different styles of weapon assaults. Like what if the person with the gun is just out of reach? To get closer, you risk getting shot to do that move. The gun one worries me more then a knife as it can harm at farther distance. Where a person with a knife, unless they are skilled at throwing has to approach you. Also things like mace & pepper spray & stun guns. Those can target at a good distance. Thanks!

@TheParanormaldancer if you train the move well enough you could make it work on a larger opponent, but if there is a problem adjust. that is why we train set senerios

hey bro sorry but i find your 1st move with the knife impractical. what if u meet a guy who has good arm strength? u r going all the way to pull his hand up, that requires strength man. in real live scenario that doesnt work. i find too much moves involve in the takedown, i went to the military before and of cos we were trained in unarmed combat which has similar moves but much less n straight forward. maybe u could review your move again? just a suggestion :)

In a real fight, how well do you think this skinny kid could actually hold up. It is all nice in a sterile sparring zone, but it looks as if my house cat could take him down. He's a good kid ect, ect, but hardly a formidable foe on the streets.
