Some really good stuff can be found in Narshe when you get Locke back. You can find the cursed shield, a shield that has sucky defense and gives you status effects until you break the curse by fighting a whopping 255 battles. Once you break the curse it turns into the Paladin Shield, the best defense in the game and protects against most elements. The best thing I would recommend is equiping the ribbon and going to that island where you started with Celes and fight the rats that die on their own.

You can also obtain your choice of a ragnorok esper or sword. The esper teaches you Ultima, the best spell in the game. The sword is just really powerful. The paladin shield also teaches quick so if you have the patience to get the Paladin shield then you might want to get the sword.

  • Is there any way to tell how many battles have been fought or do you just have to keep doing it if you neglected to keep track?

  • @hanshotfirst1138 You just have to keep track of it.

  • im looking for a vid of someone changing the cursed shield into the paladin shield.

  • I'm sorry I don't have that but all you have to do is do 255 battles(I think) with it. I went to the first place where you start with Celes to do this.

  • @xnarutoxhokage that's the best place that I could think of to do it at since the enemies pretty much die immeadiatly.

  • @bladeliger199 This is the same guy, different account.

It works to stop everything but the timer over your head that counts down until you instantly die, or turn to stone I forget which. And yes it still counts towards removing the curse.

  • @unknown234 Does that really work to stop the shield's status effects? and the still counts for removing the curse?

  • Dude get sprint shoes.

  • Ahh, Im doing the same thing.... (now im just training my characters so then I can go to Kefkas tower... =o

  • actually right now i'm trying to beat it right now

  • ok... hey, did you beat this game? If so, does anything special or helpful happen (like you get to keep the same items or something)?

  • yes just go to owzers house
