Art Guerra takes the celebration of paint a step further. Not just any sort of paint will satisfy his need for the bright, bold colors that jump from a surface and into the aesthetic folds of an art lovers brain. A longtime Williamsburg resident, Guerra began a search for the best and the brightest for his artistic pallet a search that ultimately brought him to a large collection of pigments that would make your everyday rainbow jealous. After starting Guerra Paint & Pigment, Guerra (with CO Jody Bretnall and CFO Seren Morely) satisfies the brush-wielding arts community by providing them with an array of hues via a revolutionary paint pigment process.

Large companies manufacture dried pigments using complex chemistry. It is not derived from plants (in almost every case). Sun Chemical, Dupont, Dow Chemical, etc. are some of the companies that manufacture pigments. Auto paints drive the industry - artist paints are a tiny tangent. What Guerra does is very rare, and very cool. At home, you cannot make quality pigments AND you can't grind them into dispersions without expensive equipment. Go to handprint for best info.
