Critical Points by Ray Peat:
*There are many toxins which modify hormonal responses, activating cells and altering the immune system (including estrogens and dioxins.) When these act early in life, extremely small amounts can cause life-long changes.

*When respiratory energy production is blocked in stimulated cells, the cells are likely to die. (Cortisol, estrogen, polyunsaturated oils have this effect, especially on thymus cells.)

*Antibodies are involved in removing the debris of cells that have disintegrated. Intense cellular damage causes many "autoantibodies" to be produced. People with AIDS have a high incidence of "autoimmunity."

*Endogenous retroviruses are activated by toxins known to be associated with immunodeficiency. Everyone has endogenous retroviruses. The antibodies which are used to diagnose "HIV" infection can, in the demonstrated absence of that virus, be produced in connection with lupus, Sjogren's syndrome, and arthritis. These autoimmune conditions are promoted by estrogen.

*Estrogen activates the production of cortisol, and damages the normal feedback control, causing both cortisol and ACTH to be elevated.

*Estrogen causes chronically elevated free fatty acids, and synergizes with unsaturated fats.

*Estrogen inhibits thyroid function.

Hypercortisolism is typically associated with hypothyroidism, and both tend to cause the loss of lean body mass.

*AIDS is often compared to Addison's disease, because of hyponatremia (loss of sodium) and fatigue. Hypothyroidism causes hyponatremia and many other features seen in AIDS.

*Increased levels of cortisol, estrogen, and polyunsaturated fatty acids, and decreased levels of the active thyroid hormone (T3) and (placental) progesterone have been found to occur in AIDS.

*Progesterone can contribute to the inhibition of HIV replication and transmission.

*Common environmental factors can produce hormonal changes leading to immunodeficiency.

  • Where can I learn more about measuring temp? ie. whats the best method and whats considered low high and optimal?

  • My girlfriend told me this video sucks

    She's single now.

    HAHAHA JUST KIDDING

    She's dead.....

  • @joshrubineastwest Good info all the same. Thanks Josh. You're a superhero sir.

Thanks for all the great vids.

  • @spenc193

There is so much more to it than I can put on youtube unfort. But eating the right type of protein and amounts, same with fats and mostly tropical fruits and squashes, eating smaller meals more often, etc and using temp and pulse to see if what you are doing is working.

  • @joshrubineastwest Thanks for the great response and info. Its appreciated. So, getting carbs from fructose will aid in increasing my insulin sensitivity? Or should I also avoid that in the short term? I guess what I'm asking is what types of carbs will help me to eliminate insulin resistance (taking into account small meals, healthy fats, etc.). I mean, sucrose contains glucose, so is the key having the fructose there for balance?

  • @joshrubineastwest

To continue....so avoiding pufas is a great way to regulate blood sugar. Eating the right balance of carbs, protein and fats with every meal will help you over time to regulate blood sugar. Eating smaller meals more freq initially will help compensate for the state you are in. As well, coconut oil helps to detox from pufas, heal the cells of the pancreas, teach the liver to store glycogen, etc.

  • @joshrubineastwest

to continue.....By avoiding "sugar" as you say will actually cause blood sugar dysregulation. When you say "sugar" what are you referring to as there are many kinds of sugar. I would say starches (glucose) containing foods like breads, etc will yes make things worse. PUFA's actually damage the cells of the pancrease, stimulate cortisol, are antithyroid, block sugar from getting in the cell, inc insulin resistance, etc, etc.

  • @spenc193

Most people are metabolically compromised. I don't care what they look like, how much they workout, etc...most people are in that state. Yes we first and foremost need to reg blood sugar, which to make a long story short, in time will reduce inflammation at the cell level.

  • @PeteLogan101

    Thanks! You too!
