I tried this setup , but I'm still having difficulties getting clipped on. I have a seat harness (cos i'm getting on a bit) , and I need to almost pull the hook upto my chest to hook on.but I find that i'm regularly losing the lines too. I can't work out if they need to be longer or I nned to lower the boom a bit more to make it more accesible - any hints? Its gets very tiring without a harness!!!

it really depends on which sail and which size is the sail. there isnt a rule for that

as a ruff guide the number of hands up the boom should be equal to the size of the sail .. so a four metre sail four hands up the boom 5 metre = five hands up the boom

Some harness lines when actually fitting them onto the boom require the clew end (the telescopic bit) of the boom to be removed, slip the lines on and replace the end again. ...Have fun! 8oD
