Where's the Gap Chuck? This is the Preface to ch3 of our Greatest Prophecy DVD. I challenge the GAP teaching of Futurist Chuck Missler. Show me the GAP or The lie must die. Counter Reformation Eschatology is deadly doctrine.

Within hours of posting the video on the internet this was the first comment, "We are supposed to be Christians who love each other. The thing that amazes me about all of you preachers and teachers is how arrogant some of you are. Each one of you thinks you are right. Maybe all of you are wrong. Maybe some of you are right. Maybe all of you are right in some way. How can you not humble yourselves and agree that you are all trying to figure this out? You are all going to be surprised when you stand before the King and find out just how little you do know."

This comment is really a very clever ad hominem attack.
Rather than address the debate or defend the indefensible it is much easier to accuse the messenger of being unloving, not humble, and arrogantly stupid, but he did it very well. One thing I will cop to is not being popular, there I could take lessons from Chuck Missler, if that were my object. I have been tempted to make those necessary compromises with the truth, but my Bible also says that the fear of YHWH is the beginning of knowledge, so I let that govern my conduct here.

Honestly I wont be surprised at all how little I knew when Yahushua returns, but are we not supposed to point out false teaching now?.. perhaps some have a lower standard of honesty. If I were to say that "a gap or interval is express, and not conjecture in the text of Dan 9.26″ I would be a liar and or deceived. What Chuck claims is there, is not there. The good Pastor always says, "don't trust me, look in the book, make sure what I'm saying is in there..." This verse is only 50 words, the question is not that complicated. Being humble is not the same thing as being gullible. Does Chuck not need to repent, or is that unloving?

Just how important is this question? It is the cornerstone of the entire Futurist scheme of eschatology, the Achilles Heel if you will. Certainly there are a thousand supporting verses for every fallacy, but that makes them no less false. Tens of thousands of "Christians" make decisions every day based on the Futurist Eschatological scheme of things, because it puts things which they should be concerned with today off to a future which is primarily a fantasy. At the same time confining eminent and future dangers to a false "seventieth week" period of time in the nether future which even when that comes they will be "pre-tribulation raptured" to safety.

Pastors, if you are going to teach on the 7 year tribulation, Daniel chapter 9 or anything that springs from this view of prophecy, then you must watch this video if you want to be sure that you are not engaged in a fallacy or teaching one. The video speaks for itself. As for me, I must obey God rather than man and what popularity demands.
Peace

  • Then if it was contigious then why is there a break at all. So apparently you think God made the mistake and is running late, Really Late? So where is the return of Christ? I think since I have never heard of you and you have no explanation for the last 2000 yrs and you just want to tear down another man to make you feel important and seem smart that maybe you are just another scoffer. I can show you the gap. its between your ears. Repent.

  • @1meangrizzly - I should repent for asking the question? You accept a gap because the text isolates the70th week, but the text also isolates the first 7 weeks in the same way. 7wks + 62 wks + 1 wk = 70. Nobody inserts a gap there. Scripture interprets scripture. v26 only says "after the 62 weeks" You must insert "a long long long period of time" That is conjecture. I need more than conjecture - I'm trying to be kind here, if you come back with more personal attacks I will just delete you.

  • @DXmidgets watch gp4 for answers to your inquiries

  • But thats a bit longer then 490yrs (70 weeks).

NOW, here is a test. Who is the "he" the "prince" ?

The answer maybe found in Ezekiels' description of the king of tyre. Ezek.28 see verse 11-19 who is this?

Who or what does Daniel refer to as"princes"? see Dan 10:12-14.

I know this has been a marathon but I hope it may help. I have read from KJ / NIV / masoretic and especially Hebrew / septuagint.

    Keep searching for Truth.Shalom.

  • So, we know therefore that the time period in which a prince makes a covenant with Israel and breaks it in the middle of the period to set up an abomination in the Temple and stop the sacrifice and offerings and then Gods' wrath (or judgement) is poured out on him at the END; is not fulfilled by any of the above, ergo it is yet to be. However, the Temple was destroyed after Messiah was cut off & the sacrifice did cease & abominations & desolations did occurr, right up to 1946.

  • The end of what? Remember what Daniel was enquiring about

v20-23. What was decreed in v24? Why?This is all about Israel and the entire fulfilment of Gods' promises to them. To put an end to sin, to bring EVERLASTING righteousness, to ATONE for wickedness, "to FINISH transgression, AND to anoint THE MOST HOLY ONE. This has NEVER taken place according to Israel. So the End of Their transgression has not taken place and They have certainly not anointed The Most holy - yet!

  • There was NO seven year covenant with any of the Roman princes (Ceasars) and there was No Abomination set up in the Temple that caused desolation. Yes the Sacrifice ceased and the region was absolutely desolate. Later (135ad) Hadrian erected a statue of Jupitor and Himself on Temple Mount after destroying a partial Temple restoration. Later still (138-161ad) Antonius Pius erected another statue. However,NONE of these figures or regimes made a covenant with Israel or lasted until The End.

  • Now, Rome. Titus destroyed Jerusalem so completely in 70ad that the legions ploughed the ground of the city and sewd saltpeter into it so nothing would grow there (this was the fate of Carthage). The temple was destroyed stone by stone and burnt to a cinder. The sacrifice ceased and Israel was no more. Is this the 70th week?

Well, again there are big holes. Even though Caligular tried to set up a statue of himself in the holy of holies, it never happened and Vespesian became Emperor.

  • So, this prince with small p, who is he?

OK, historically Antiochis set up an abomination in the Temple and made it unclean (Desolate) by sacrificing a pig on the alter. Is he the"he". Can't be! Because he existed 170yrs before Messiah and he never made a covenant with many (infact he was isolated by the romans, egyptians, Parthians and Greeks alike. He did Not put an end to the sacrifice either although he tried. Ther are very striking similarities though which we will ask why later.
