@OMGWTFBBQ511 Seems a little simplistic. If this was 1999, i'd think that held a lot of water, but now with HL2, it seems unlikely, what with the Combine having taken over all of mankind.

gman worked in black mesa for the "investements" like he says and he says when i plucked here from black mesa so he hacked the teleporting device and he could time travel like he says "prepare for unforseen consequences" he is preparing to save gman and alyx from the alien race named vortigaunts because in half life 1 black mesa used vortigaunts and they cannot be thrusted

gman is a scientist worked with dr freeman and gman stole freeman's voice because he says rather than giving you the free choice i will take the libarty of choosing for you if and when youre time commes around

@PianoKing2000 I seriously hope that isn't the case as I think it would be a terrible twist in the HL saga. I would love it if they never revealed the Gman's true identity as the mysterious surroundings and motives of his character is what is great about him

When you are returning with the vortessence up the elevator to this scene, you hear the vortigaunts talk about how if alyx dies, then "we lose all". Obviously they know something we don't.
