Trying to use up 5 min of the CVS video. Took the video for a walk downtown on a cold, dreary foggy day.

  • Coachwkr: You don't think the white leadership of the auto companies helped bring the city down? Auto was the dominant employer in the city and without auto sector there is no Detroit.

  • dont overlook what the unions did to GM. they took a mile and never gave anything back when GM started bleeding to death. it wasnt an overnight fall for GM - it was over the course of a couple decades. the union should be ashamed of itself.

look at those huge streets and those grand buildings. detroit is not dead and hopeless yet. it can improve, if its people WILL it. you can throw millions of dollars around, but it will do no good unless the citizens realize its THEY are the future.

  • Detroit has been rotting and decaying over time thanks to the Auto industry and most of us are employed by these dealerships. Don't blame us on not loving the city enough for it decaying over decades of time, and get your facts straight. We didn't do shit to ourselves, and we didn't choose for it to be like this.

  • Further, I'm upset with the "change", to be frank. Detroit was a BLANK sheet of paper...we could do what ever we wanted, when we wanted. TRUE...city in decay...look what has transposed though? Look at the strong people and talent this city molded? I see very little now....we had talent oozing out our assess...now look? I hate it...its further in dust and ruin than before in my eyes...industry...pffft! We were comparable to N.Y. underground...if not better! That aspect is fucked now.

  • Yuppy*

  • Haha....some of the buildings are still looking for tenants? Only thing populated today is yuppt lofts...the city is in an inbetween stage...the artists and musicians that made it "cool" are nearly gone....and "most" suburbanites don't have the balls to live in a city as tough as we are...will be interesting to see the ending result....( I'll be old and gray by the time this happens i'm quite sure)

  • @Chicago48 they might as well knock down Detroit & start all over again from scratch. real talk. like i said before im proud & glad im from Chicago. GO BULLS!!!

  • all the best from Germany

  • I love how people blame the government, auto companies, unions, everyone but themselves. LOL... How many of the above do the stupid shit that causes the problems in Detroit? Explain to all please how people walk across deserts, come from other countries, don't speak english, move to the worst neighborhoods and start businesses which then turn the entire area into the best in Detroit? It's all about personal morals and convictions, nobody else can do that to you, you do it to yourselves.

  • Detroit needs robocop & axel foley

  • @Chicago48 No, it wouldn't, I am sorry - I would really, really love to believe it would - but, it just wouldn't.

Debts will keep killing the city - no, I mean, the world. Debts would still kill everything and everyone on the way to ther New World Order of total enslavement.

  • 3:39 you're not alone in there! I started to worry ;-)
