I was 2 when this song came out... been a favorite for as long as I can remember. Luckily there's a radio station here in OKC that still plays amazing country such as this.

It's from the latter part of 1980s, but who's counting:) As some have mentioned, this tune - co-written by wonderful songwriter/artists (MaryAnne) Kennedy- (Pam) Rose, is so non-trad country or commercial Nashville country...that it easily crossed over into the pop charts during a time when Michael Jackson, synth pop and LA hairbands were the norm (1987). So, yeah, we wish 'country' still sounded like this (if it ever did) and we certainly wish pop/T-40 still did

Played at my wedding who knew 22 years later, he decided he didn't want to be married anymore. Still a good song.
