Yes, it's not a traditional 5-string banjo, but just like a tenor banjo with 4 strings, or a plectrum banjo with 4-strings, it is never the less a valid banjo. We call it a 6-string banjo, but you can call it a ganjo, a bantar, a gitjo....there are many names for it. The music Keith makes on it is wonderful and we are pleased that the 6-string banjos have become such a popular instrument with many of the top artists today. Thanks for posting this great clip!

@KUiscaliente their totally diffrent.
That's not really a banjo,,, I mean it is.... but he's playing a six string banjo and traditional banjos have 5 strings.... so it's more like a guitar but still a great sounding riff.
