Bell Cobra - Deadly Attack Helicopter

The Bell AH-1 Cobra is an attack helicopter. It shares a common engine, transmission and rotor system with the older UH-1 "Huey". It is variously called the "HueyCobra," "SeaCobra," "SuperCobra," "Whiskey Cobra," "Zulu Cobra," "Viper," or "Snake"; depending on the model.

The AH-1 was once the backbone of the United States Army's attack helicopter fleet, but has been replaced by the AH-64 Apache in Army service. Upgraded versions continue to fly with the United States Marine Corps (AH-1W) and several other users.

My dad flew a cobra once, except it had 4 propelers not 2, and on the tip of those little wing things (you can tell I'm no expert on this sort of thing :L) it had these awesome looking blue missiles :D But now he rarely flys choppers anymore

@futurejarhead0311 yeah, when u have a gun that shoots over 600 rounds a minute, andu only load just over 700, then it kinda puts the gunner in a very conservative spot.

agreed. the only real downside to the cobra is the gun system, it needs to carry more ammo. i think they should just have an underside pod like the apache so they can use the room whr the chin turret would be to fill up with ammo and puff up the cheeks a little bit more to fit some more shells in there

and the Cobra is faster, more manuverable, and more of a multi purpose chopper than the apache. if the AH1 is a cobra (light, fast, slim, and deadly) than the AH64 is a python (big, bulky,powerful,and quite frankly a little overconfident)

no actually, its the Marine helicopter. the Marines are a fast moving fighting force, not an occupation force so they need a fast helicopter that can hang around for a while so they made this. its so thin so its harder to hit. the AH1Z has almost an identical weapons layout as the apache except for the gun, apache uses 30mm single barreled cannon, Cobra uses 20mm 3-barreled cannon. cobra carries slightly less ammo for the gun but the killing effect is about the same
