As a senior in high school with some knowledge on electronics and mcus, I couldn't pass my last year without building the ultimate senior prank. The prank involved hiding a remotely operated water gun, built from scratch, behind a door and spraying students as they walked down the hall. While I sat in the hall and "read" my math book, I had one of my hands behind my back with a finger on the trigger. From the sidelines, my hidden camera and I watched some very funny reactions to my devious school prank.

This project includes two modules: a receiver and a transmitter both of which are driven by an ATmega8. The transmitter module is controlled using a 4-position key switch and an LED pushbutton. The key-switch turns the transmitter module on and also selects the power level for the water gun. The pushbutton is the trigger that activates the water gun. When the pushbutton is pressed, the position of the key-switch is read and a data packet is sent to the receiver module. The receiver translates the data and turns on an electric fuel pump. PWM is used to drive the electric fuel pump at varying levels of power. The electric fuel pump pumps water out of a reservoir and through a hose. Together the transmitter and receiver modules make a remote control water gun.

  • could u make some sort of "shopping-list" / links for the comonents? and how much money did u spend on this build?

  • @terpminator yes. I'm in the process of making a website and I plan on putting instructions there with all the components and the price.

  • haha nice. College or high school?

Btw, did you get in trouble for this? :P

  • @teUnic0rn

High school. I didn't get in trouble though I was really close. Some kids told a teacher and she opened the door but luckily didn't look up. She probably expected some kid was hiding with a water gun. One kid actually said they saw someone behind the door. You see what you want to see. Both these instances are going to be in the extended footage which I will be posting soon.

  • Use most of the same design and do the following:

Place the water source in the ceiling

Under where the water will spray attach a box with a button to the wall with a sign that says "Do not press button"

    Don't forget to film it!

  • @tnoyca I think I know what my next video is going to be ;)

  • What's next ? eh.. ink, cats *rine, fresh garlic extract, toilet cleaner, boiled ashtray-soup, parfum, custard, syrup, motor oil, hair dye, coffee, soy sauce and paint thinner. Ursula, for safety reasons, suggests... a combination of liquid nitrogen with the paint thinner.
