The History of the GG Tower Crane
In the late sixties, Mr. Gaspard Gillis has developed an exceptional tower crane. These tower crane consisted of two jibs linked to a central tower. The jibs were equipped at the end with airplane propellers with a diameter of 4 meters. These propellers were used to turn and brake the jibs.

The advantage of these propellers was that the wind had no influence during the rotation so that the burden can be placed accurately. A technical advantage of the propellers is that there is no torsion forces acting on the main tower so the burden does not rocking back and forth.
