When we are prisoners of our conscience, when we see a different path for ourselves...there will be those who disagree, or even have an agenda to protect. What I cannot understand about the Mormon perspective is the concept of atonement through baptism of the dead (proxy baptism)...this implies openly that redemption is a possibility outside of the person's lifetime, therefore, there is no need to isolate and reject people who disagree. Supposedly Christ is able to minister in the Spirit World

but please and i know you wont agree, G-D is not the propblem it has always been peopke, religions, and huge corporate organisations using G-Ds name like the mormon church. i feel so so sad of how things turned out and youir family hopfully will figure out soon that thinking your dead to them is just silly not ment in a bad way x

I know how you feel Nathan..I left the Mormon church also, and my mom cried, thinking i'm going to "hell" or whatever it is they believe..and yet it's sad to watch because (even though you and I have different beliefs, they come out the same) i know they won't make it to heaven, and you know that nothng will happen to them..or whatever athiests believe (sorry, i don't know exactly what they believe :/) but it's hard because the church makes you feel guilt in your own family they do it on purpose

I followed your blog and I know you said you became an atheist,please feel free to do it, me in my case still believe jesus is the one and only,cause he said it clearly:I'm the way, the truth and the life nobody gets to the father but through me.This is my main opinion on why I should leave this church...the prophet ,etc does not fit into what jesus told us.I could keep going on my reasons...including the abraham stuff(polygamy)david(dancing naked,etc)...etc.I admire you for doing this,peace!

the way this is working from their point of view even becomes a contradiction of one of their main principles:"families are forever...family is the base of God's plan...really?where does this apply to You with their attitude?they are putting religious beliefes on top of YOU who are supposed to be part of that big family they claim to be...I'm sorry about this.I hope one day they remember that love one another does not fit someone's life only when they share the same religion,it should be always

When you leave you are dead to them take it from some one who knows! You will have no one from the church back you or befriend you. You are pretty much dead to every one in the church, family included! I have been going through this as well bro and it sucks!
