Sharlene, Josie, Matt, Reuben, Tess, and Olivia, Christmas 1989

Tess gives Reuben a sweater she made for him as his Christmas present from her. The sleeves are too long, which upsets Tess at first, but Reuben loves the sweater. He tells her it's the best present he's ever had, and then he kisses her. Sharlene brings in more ornaments as Josie and Matt are decorating the Christmas tree and asks Josie what time Olivia will be there. Josie says Olivia should be there soon. When the phone rings and Sharlene answers, it's for her. She gets called in to work a private party at The Pelican Club because the original hostess who was working the party called in sick. John's not going to be home since he has to work at the hospital, and Josie's going out later, so Sharlene doesn't feel too bad about going in to work. Sharlene sits down with Reuben and Tess to talk. Once the others are occupied with their own conversation, Matt asks Josie if she told Sharlene about Sam and Olivia. She assures him that she didn't and she's not planning to. Josie thinks she may have overreacted a bit about Sam and Olivia. Matt says Josie didn't see Amanda when Sam walked out, and Alli's been crying for her daddy. Matt thought Olivia was his friend. Josie tells Matt that it's Christmas Eve and not to let anything ruin it and then she hugs him. Tess comes over then with Reuben trailing behind her to ask Josie about Lucas and the promotional tour. What's Lucas really like? Josie says Lucas is the best thing that's ever happened to her, then amends that when Matt nudges her and says Lucas is the second-best thing that's ever happened to her. Sharlene is not happy to hear Josie praising Lucas.

Olivia arrives then, and Sharlene greets her first. Olivia then greets the others, and Josie goes to get her some eggnog. Matt gives Olivia the cold shoulder, and Olivia tells Matt that she's not the reason Sam and Amanda... Josie interrupts when she returns then with Olivia's eggnog, so Olivia doesn't get to finish her thought, and Matt has walked away by now. Olivia tells Josie she obviously didn't do a very good job talking to Matt about Olivia and Sam. Josie replies that she did what she could, but Matt is very upset about Sam and Amanda. Olivia asks what the big deal is and tells Josie that Amanda's at the loft with Sam right now. Josie asks how Olivia knows that, and realizes Olivia was there too. Josie does not approve. After Josie walks away from Olivia, Sharlene and Olivia talk about the apartment that Olivia and Josie are now sharing. Olivia tells Sharlene that she and Josie are very compatible, but Olivia wishes she didn't have to leave whenever Lucas comes over. She wants to stay, but Lucas makes it very clear that he wants to be alone with Josie. Sharlene is not happy about this. Olivia excuses herself to say hello to Tess and notes Sharlene's dismay with satisfaction.

Olivia, causing trouble for Josie. I loved Alyson Hossack as Olivia. Shame that she never got much of a storyline during her time at AW. Must've been annoying for her with all of those Sam actors coming and going!
