In addition, he has been interviewed about Islam by newspapers in California, Colorado, Missouri, and Saudi Arabia and by television stations in Kansas, New York, Texas, Utah, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates. He is the author of four books that explore the commonalities and differences among the three Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity, and Judaism): The Cross and the Crescent, now in its second printing; Abraham, The Friend of God; Understanding Islam--A Guide for the Judaeo-Christian Reader; and The Abrahamic Faiths--Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

His fifth book, Muslims in American History--A Forgotten Legacy was published in 2006 and celebrates the centuries-old history of Muslims in America. His sixth book, Letters to My Elders in Islam, was published in 2008. Dr. Dirks has also proofread and/or edited several books for other authors.

  • @jimilli09 If there is a land of the free, canada is, ask negroes that took refuge in canada while fleeing brutal treatment of slave masters ask Harriet Tubman and thousands of negroes who moved to canada when faced with brutality of both the state and their owners. I can bet you haven't travelled half of where i have been

  • @jimilli09 Where did arabs help africans and in what circumstances? islam has connection with arab since it is from the arabs that it spread and you cannot talk of islamic civilization and leave out arabs. you r the one that brought the arab civilization topic. Of course, you can choose what to talk about but the moment you bring up an argument, it is your duty to back it up else why bring it up if you can't defend it.

  • @jeannshi Arabs are MORE racist than whites? Interesting, it appears you never travelled outside of Canada. Arabs have helped Africans more than any European. And why the talk about Arabs? Weren't you ragging about Islam which is not an ethnicity? Also, Freedom of Speech baby, I can reply and argue and chose not to speak about whatever I want. Oh I forgot, yall don't have such rules in Canada...a dictator's providence. Show me some Jews helping Africans, how about that.

  • @jimilli09 Of course you can choose not to prove it but at the same time you have an obligation to not mention it or make it an argument. I wonder what arabs have accomplished in the last 2000 years. However, i careless what arabs did and i care more what whites do for they affect me directly. Trust me, we need no hekp of muslims for whatsoever. If anything, they are the worst racist, even more racists than whites.Ask those who lived among them both in North america and in the middle east

  • @jimilli09 you make me laugh. first i make a simple comment you jump in and say tat cherokees had arabs among them and when i tell you to prove it you are at loss. i never made a claim of anything on cherokees, you came up with it hence it is up to you to prove it.

  • @jeannshi First of all, I don't have to prove anything to you. If you can read Arabic I could refer you to the books but I doubt that you can. Second of all, if is you who are in doubt so research it for yourself. Third of all, judging from the comment you attempted to post on my page, you are only bitter and bickering because Muslims have accomplished things that took Europeans 1,500 years to do...and even then you needed the help of Muslims.

  • @jimilli09 again, you need to read my post carefully, i never said british were the first ones in north america. The point remains, you have no fact to back it up therefore, your thesis is just a fabrication. Even if i want to go to the museum,I will still ask you wich one and you will still tell me that you don't know.So why don't you shut up till you have facts to back your argument

  • @jimilli09 Look, if they were, it wouldn't have have been hard for you to find ressources to back it up. Muslim these days have perfected their propaganda machine and there is no way that they would have forgeten that historical fact. second, i mentioned british since they conquered the french and spanish and established the current boundaries we have in north america. So quit sending me to curators and museums for stories that are purely imaginative. Arab cherokees...you make me laugh.

  • @jeannshi It was a Cherokee chieftain who signed a treaty with the British in the northeast. If I recall correctly, somewhere around Maryland or something like that.

  • @jeannshi Did I ever say anything about Muslims being colonizers of this land? There are records of Arab speaking muslim Cherokee Indians all throughout the east coast. Visit your local museum and speak to the curators about it. I'm definitely sure they either have something to help you or they can point you in the direction of someone who can. The British were not the first ones here because your history say Columbus was here first...he's not a Brit. Spanish and French colonies outdate'em
