Here is Billy Murray singing Don't Do that to the Poor Puss Cat on a 1928 Velvet Tone Record. Velvet Tone was a Columbia "Dime Store" type label. This Record is being Played on a Victor Model VV-50 Victrola circa 1921, which was the first Portable Victrola ever mfg. by the Victor Talking Machine of Camden, New Jersey. The Model was produced between 1921 and 1924.. This one is in an Oak Case. The VV-50 was also offered in Mahogany.

  • Beautiful Victor! Hard for me to listen to the record though. lol. Can't stand anything to do with hurting animals. There are other early records that are like 'kick the dog' or something. I can't tolerate them. can't help it.

  • @sideshowtink Yes, You Gotta Quit Kickin my Dawg Around comes to mind, also featured on the Victrolaman Channel. A sad tale, but the Dog gets even in the end.
