With a few slight variations..IT IS the WILD ROVER..
And I don't see wth is so 'crazy'' about it.
It's a cool son,g and I like it enough!

no thats not why...its because they rhyme 'manys a year' with 'whiskey and beer' the same as they do in the wild rover...if uve herd both songs ud surly notice that!!

Yes indeed! I have often played with this group and they're a great bunch of lads to perform with and go for many pints afterwards - really knowledgable about Irish song and music - the song shown here doesn't capture the spirit of the band in full swing. The dancers are cool - they really put their soul into it - glad you liked it.

River dancing young ladies were very nice, but the camera memory ran out so no beauties can be found here. There was a drum solo that was simply amazing. My guess is it was some sort of Irish drum from bygone days. Any details on that?

Band are called the Merry Ploughboys and this is a great sing-along drinking song called the Moonshiner - it's very similar to the Wild Rover.

Thanks for the details, Merry. Coincidence, or are you a member of this band? Band was good and energetic, just wasn't my cup of tea. Now the River Dancing that followed, that was fantastic. I love watching that dance in person.
