I'm assuming that Pinhead is weakened from the lack of souls.

The box didn't work with Kirsty because she wanted rid of the cenobites, and that can't happen if she's already in the place she wishes to send them to. Pinhead wasn't trying to send the cenobites back to hell, his solving the box was just sortof like him saying "come tear me apart".

I wonder what these guys did with the set after the movie was finished? It could be recycled for other things, I would think.

@madammelva This reply is a bit late, but... The short was made over 4 years ago. The set is long gone. We kept it up in the shop for a while, but when the shop moved, it was dismantled. Pinheads Throne is still around and was painted and used in another movie.
