  • At 2:54 you state "click on that", what did you click on? Every thing worked with you tutorial until that step. Could you please tell me what did you click on so I can complete the keyboard connection. thanks.....

  • @bleakbleak Sorry I had to watch several times and I think the audio and video got a bit out of sync but what you see me click is all you need to do.

  • UPDATE: I got EVO working by uninstalling the drivers. After reinstalling them again I was able to reproduce the error, so the E-Mail button does upset the driver. I found a second error, while touch typing. The keyboard/display changes to Korean (or similar) characters / symbols, when I go to use the Shift key but hit something else. The only way I've found to go back to the English character set is by uninstalling the driver and power cycling. As shifting is basic, I'm stuck till fixed.:)

  • @bmoshier I am sending all you finds over to Freedom. Thanks for updating on your progress

  • @bmoshier The Korean switching is where you are pressing Shift+Space. In the driver settings now you can disable this toggle

  • I followed these instructions and they work perfect on the HTC EVO 4G, though the screens look slightly differently. I was able to surf the net.

Unfortunately, when I pressed the mail button the Freedom Pro software died. I have a message saying "Sorry! The application Freedom Pro Keyboard Driver (process com.freedom.pro) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. The dialog box has one button labeled: Forced Close.

From what I can tell neither the Android nor the Freedom work now.

  • @bmoshier I sent your question over to Paul at Freedom but have not received and answer yet.

  • OK Iam not understanding why you would have to download any app for BT keyboard. Can you explain why you have to do this I have an HTC Evo thanks.

  • Fantastic video!!!! One major difference I found was, according to the manual, once you've entered the PIN code on the Android, you then also type the same PIN number on the external keyboard itself (as it says in the manual). I connected via HID mode, and I'm running a UK Desire running CyanogenMod 6.1

  • @TheNancyMama

I missed that as well. Thanks for pointing that out. I think that might need an extra comment along the way if they redo the video. Otherwise it was really helpful.

  • This was really helpful... although the first few times I missed the following critical step: after clicking on the "test the keyboard" I initially missed the need to hold my finger on the input screen for a second in order for the phone to ask which input method. I usually follow directions pretty well, so if there are others out there who can't seem to get it working... make sure you focus on the instruction at 4:09.

  • Dude this video was on point. I just got the Freedom Pro. Your instructions were spot on. I was following your exact instructions, I never looked at the manual. Great Job!!

  • I raised a support ticket - ZRQ-389227 - on the Freedom Technical site but have yet to hear back from them. I'm wondering how long do they typically take to reply and/or DO they reply?

i've got a limited time in which to return the keyboard for a refund. If their reputation is one to not reply / support their products, I guess returning it makes the most sense. Hopefully, this isn't the case.
