  • chemo started 5/24, never got sick, lost hair from treatment - this time it really took a toll. 6/4 she had to be admitted. Hoped it was another case of pneumonia-She had 2 bouts with that in Feb & Mar. It wasn't the case. Since she was on Asprin to prevent clots, biopsy would be too risky-or they can do a levage- i think that was trumatic. Now on 15 liters O2, no way to go home. no improvement from steroids. By 6/17 it was bad. 6/20, she passed away with family all by her side. Still heartbrokn

  • @scrapplecheesesteak Very sorry to hear about her struggle. Glad to hear family was by her side - always good to hear someone didn't die alone... =) My mother passed in 2003 and I'm still heartbroken. I cry over anything having to do with mother/daughter relationships, moms dying in movies, songs about a lost loved one, ugh.... anything. Even mothers/babies in COMMERCIALS (cynical laugh). A bit bitter with God? Yes. How are your feelings toward God throughout all this? (hugs to you)

  • @KatatMKP Yes,it really is hard to see anything on TV about a son & his mom, movies, shows where a mom (or dad) dies-THAT hits me hard. I've had a few dreams with my mom in them-very vivid and detailed. When I wake up, wow it hurts and I think about it all day. Bitter with God? Oh yeah!! The slap in the face was that my mom was a saint-she helped people, saved animals-1 flaw, she smoked 4 decades-BUT finally quit Nov '08-Wanted to be around when my brother, new wife had a child...it was too late.

  • @scrapplecheesesteak Wow- My mom died before she could see me graduate college, get married, or get my own first house. I agree about the dreams - I had one Friday... I wake up crying every time... wow it's like a wound just about to heal, but it's stuck to a bandaid - which is then ripped off taking the scab with it.... it sucks so bad... my heart goes out to you.

  • @scbilder dude - how much of this video did you watch? I'm pretty sure I said in the beginning if not at least at the END that she died... in 2003. a few years before this vid was made... (awkward moment for you?)

  • I HATE THE QUESTION, DID SHE SMOKE? LIKE SHE DESERVED IT............does it matter if she smoked? She was a cancer victim....LUNG CANCER IS THE NUMBER ONE KILLER OF WOMEN, KILLS MORE WOMEN THEN BREAST CANCER, YET NO FUNDING (OR VERY LITTLE) "SMOKING IS NOT A CRIME" ~No more than overeating is a crime, which causes diabetes and heart attacks......time for some funding for LUNG CANCER...stop asking if people with lung cancer smoked!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MAD9711 Yeah - since the age of 12 she smoked until at least a couple months before dying at age 53, which is WAY too young. Though she could've helped her life span's untimely end by quitting smoking, she couldn't give up the habit... so yes - IMHO - it's her fault because she chose her disease (addiction to smoking) over the possibility of seeing me go to college, get married, get my first house (in that order)... and now my dad won't see me have kids, as well.. :(

  • im sorry :( ! you two will see each other again and laugh and talk and smile. she is in a better world now where nobody can hurt her.-3

  • she is in a wonderful place no longer hindered by that broken vessel. she goes on and so does her memory and love. you will meet again . peace and love everybody .

  • So, so sorry for your loss. I know this pain and still coping with it...bad and ok days. It will be a year tomorrow since my mom was 1st diagnosed with lung cancer - even though I first saw some troubling signs as early as Aug '09. Oct. deeper cough, hoarse voice. She had a feeling and it was fear. Jan she was basically ok, good news that it was 'treatable'. Just too late, decline came so fast. Feb she had to be on O2. March it spread. Late April - stroke from Gemzar, chemo was stopped briefly..
