My Father served on the Saratoga from 1940 to 1944. I heard some great storys about the old Sara. May both of them Rest In Peace.

My grandfather Raymond Shopa served on the Saratoga during WW2. He passed away over thirty years ago. I remember him telling me about the fear he had but was still determined to do his duty. Grandpa you were and always will be my hero!

i am researching a book i have.The original schematics blueprints of the xf-11-c or bfc2 curtiss aeroplane built in 1932.this shop carried them.I think until 1938 they were discontinued.This is a great video wow!!

Wow, just to think that after the bombing of Pearl harbor, that the only things standing between Japanese occupation of the U.S. and freedom was just a small group of aircraft carriers and their escorts. Thank you Sara, R.I.P.

Not really, as no one was onboard for the tests which ultimately sank her. Like most of the wrecks here, however, many lives were lost during the active service life of the vessel through enemy actions.
