BART shooting verdict: Oakland police officer Mehserle convicted of 'involuntary manslaughter'

A jury has convicted a white former transit officer of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of an unarmed black man on an Oakland train platform. Johannes Mehserle was found guilty on Thursday in the New Year's Day 2009 killing of 22-year-old Oscar Grant. Involuntary manslaughter carries a sentence of two to four years. As the verdict reached the streets, scores of people were arrested in Oakland riots as police tried to wrest control of downtown from looters angry about the BART verdict earlier in the day.

You're right, though it was the other cop that said the "bitch ass nigger" part, and I understand why people are pissed and all, but with all the repercussions, you'd think the cop shot him simply because he was black. Bart Mehserle can rot in hell where he belongs, 4 years, no wonder judges and courts are regarded as dickheads and so out of touch with society it isnt funny. Courts for cops and politicians have different rules than any1 else, if i shoot some1 in the back for no reason id get 25 years or more, cops murder they get 2 to 4 years. Its why i have no time or interest in pathetic courts and the corrupt judges. a joke

Not everything is as it seems -- i just wikipediaed tha shooting and I retract my previous statement. If you do yer research, you'll may not like it, but will hafta agree tha it was an accident, by all witness accounts, and the dude should not have been shot with a bullet. However, don't resist the cops folks. PERIOD. or this typa chyt can happen.
