  • im totally lost at how to keep the hoop up with my arms inside as well. all the tutorials make it seem like it should be common sense on how to keep it up... but it just bashes my arms and falls back to the floor every time!

  • I just tried this and I think I have broken my boobs.... :(

  • I'm just getting into hoop dancing and this is really hard to do. Especially since I have big boobs. Sometimes the hoop is able to rotate up past my boobs but I lose momentum the moment the hoop rises or I tire out before the hoop travels up LOL

  • I've been practicing hooping on my arms and this helps a lot. But I'm hooping with a pretty heavy hoop so I'm bruised :(

  • @duffelskellington You can bruise yourself if you're small-framed and using a heavy hoop. I'm about 5'7'' and 135 lbs--I carry a fair amount of my weight in my thighs and butt, but a 2-lbs hoop bruises me. If you're new to hooping (like me--just a couple months in but with a good teacher!) something lighter (say, a pound or maybe 1.2 lbs) but with a wide diameter (40'') should be good. Experiment in a class if you can :)

  • this is one of my biggest problems. I have a big chest and well the women hooping....doesn't. So it's not really easy....plus when I do it with my arms like others have recommended....it's bruises my arms and falls to the floor!

  • lol it won't go past my boobs

  • Wow it actually has a lot to do with the hips! Circle your hips and it'll come right up!!!

  • looks easy but my hoop won't come up and it hurt my ribs :(

  • I was trying to learn tricks like these with a 2 pound wieghted hoop, is that too heavy, should i be using a lighter one, im small btw.

  • holy moly i thought you two were the same chick with an occasional hair change and less time in the sun. :S whoops
