Hate Crimes Against Muslims

A New York taxi driver was slashed in the throat, face, and hands by a drunken assailant (a new york film student fresh from afghanistan where he made a patriotic documentary about his buddies in the marines). This occurs as the "ground zero mosque" controversy continues, and as hate crimes against muslims and acts of vandalism against mosques escalate all over the country. When are we finally going to stop demanding that muslim americans be more sensitive to the feelings of angry white people and allow them to enjoy their first amendment constitutional rights in peace?

@jamesdragonforce continued. your logic, considering it's obvious your distaste for christianity, you might as well hate christians. No I don't hate muslims per se, and I don't hate christians per se either. I can't stand both religions taken seriously and literally. But that doesn't mean I will kill people for doing that unless it comes to the point where they threaten me with violent conversion. Please come to your senses.

@jamesdragonforce Now, as for christianity "fading away", that's clearly not true. FBI statistics show that 6% of terrorism is islamic, 7% is jewish, and the vast majority is christian. The statistics are even more pronounced in europe, where less than 1% is islamic.

That's what you mean when you talk about "islam being a threat to civilized society", you're not talking about qurans, or abstract ideas, busting up society, you're talking about the PEOPLE who hold beliefs that you don't even understand. You don't know what muslims really believe in the first place, or you might realize that muslims ARE civilized society.

@n8glenn Now you're arguing semantics. "If you hate Islam, you hate muslims." If you dislike a certain type of belief or idea, you automatically hate the people who follow that idea. Because I disagree with you on this, does that mean that I hate you? No! It means I disagree. Now about your comment about christianity, yes, christianity has had it's share of sheer ruthlessness. But christianity is fading and Islam is taking it's place as the new threat to civilized society.

@jamesdragonforce It is true, and it doesn't justify killing innocent people, just like 9/11 does not justify US killing innocent people. You should educate yourself on the violent history of christianity, as well as the countless biblical verses that support hate, bigotry, violence, etc. In fact, christians have a far more violent history and a far more violent holy book, but I'm guessing that you would not assume that christians are bad based on those things.

@jamesdragonforce Yes, I see christians and atheists and jews threatening muslims all the time, and I have been threatened by christians, atheists, and jews myself, in fact at the moment I am receiving daily death threats from a jewish person, which will probably continue indefinitely into the future. Now, about forcibly converting, now you're talking about most religions on earth, and if you hate islam, you hate muslims.

@n8glenn I don't hate muslims, especially since the radicals have been indoctrinated since childhood. Do you see followers of other religions spread as much hate and death threats in the modern day as much as muslims do, with the exception of people like the westboro baptists. I also should've mentioned that not all muslims are that way. Most "muslims" are muslim because they had Islamic families whose ancestors were forcibly converted.

If you wanna talk about their religion, then I think you need to educate yourself on the ruthless history of their religion. Not to mention the countless quranic verses that support hate, bigotry, and violence etc etc.

@jamesdragonforce Yes, I think you do hate muslims, however, I don't think you understand their religion, or them, or the region they come from. They didn't attack us because of religion, they attacked us because we've been attacking them for a long, long time, we've killed countless people and propped up savage dictators, and they don't like it, you would feel exactly the same if you had to live with what they have to live with.
