Check out my piano book: http://bit.ly/billsbook

This is a piano tutorial on how to mix in chords with right hand blues scale improvisations when playing 12 bars and boogie woogie.

The basic trick here is to let your fingers do the thinking on the keyboard and let chords become an extension of scale improvisations. Alternatively, you can mix in chord "stabs" with melodic improvisations.

A key point is that the piano isn't like other instruments when it comes to improvisation - you have to let your subconscious do an awful lot of the work!

  • Would be great if people normalised their audio in the videos so one video isnt too quiet like this - and then others too high.

    On that note... lol

    Very helpfull video :-)

  • @jesperkped Yeees - sorry about that. This is quite an early video, before I figured out normalisation. Recent ones should be better :)

  • very helpful, as always!!!
