You need to provide much more detail here. What camera was this recorded with, what setting used, what were the basic lighting conditions in the room, what if any other devices were plugged into the same circuit as the camera, etc. This is likely just amplification or read noise from the sensor due to low light in the room. It occurs randomly per frame, and randomly per pixel, so Shermer is right. It's random.

Amid the sea of "scathing" (And I am being deliberately facetious here- having received a plethora of comments alluding to my 'deplorable grammar'- INTENTIONAL BOYS!!) comments from Doc's friends- thank you for giving the situation some thought! I'm not certain about the circuit load- don't know what difference shared load would make (but it definitely SOUNDS viable)- the progression of activity is distributed over multiple frames...what you're looking at is good old-fashioned low-light snow.

There are two malfunctions with these pictures. One with the camera, and the other with your parietal lobes. Do you honestly expect to accept a technological problem to be interpreted as metaphysical interference? You must be desperate for some sort of emotional validation here.

My parietal lobes are fine thank you...just trying to prod brainiacs into THINKing about the possibilities here- AND it wouldn't be the first time a discovery was made using a device in a fringe fashion (consult the "Robot Hand" episode of "Big Bang Theory")
