i have owned both engines and i dont down play Lt1s at all they were here only 5 yrs and over shadwoed by the ls1 around 1997 but its reverse cooling allows alot higher compresson on this cheap stuff we call gas and its irob block is basically a truck block plus the heads flow just as good as the old race head alot of low torque rpm i noticed i have a street one in a convertible and its got a cam upgrad but man it runs pretty good and still gets 25 to 27 at 65 to 70 mph on trips pretty decent
