  • great version by THE EMBERS aswell flip side of 2nd release Just crazy about you. They released 3 times with 3 different flips

  • big tune big artist

  • really love jerry butler and his music he really is the ice man

  • @yaya4shur Correct on both items. CM was a big influence on a developing Jimi Hendrix, and you can hear it in JMH songs like Little Wing, Wind Cries Mary, Remember, Hey Baby, Axis LP, and others. The Iceman was masculine yet vulnerable, a personality that CM wrote into the music when he collaborated with Jerry Butler. Interestingly, Jimi Hendrix performed a medley of Gypsy Woman/Aware of Love at Woodstock (7/69), an obvious recognition of CM's genius as guitarist/song writer/producer/owner.

  • hands down, side note, im only 34, but this song is THEE epitomy of the ICEMAN, got the opp to see him live in ChiTown a few years ago for a mothers day event-----Jerry is and will always be one of the best singers to ever grace a mic.

  • The IDIOTS" that comes on these Boards with obvious Rusty Tin Can ears, & make Moronic remarks like (I PREFER the EMBERS version! Are like POP UPS on your Computer! Bringing up Trash that no one knows, No one wants to know & comparing them to Artists! You have to wonder, why don't they just stay over there listening to "THEIR" GARBAGE! It's nothing like this!

  • Great song. Jerry is a great singer and Curtis Mayfield was a great guitar player.

  • @blacktigerwu-yes it is Curtis Mayfield in background

  • I wonder is that Curtis singing in the background

  • thanks for the post ! bether than (alan david)
