  • Sound is so fat you'd swear this synth has diabetes. (or maybe synthabetes)

  • yeah sit behind a memorymoog... this does kind of pale in comparison... :(

  • that is so phat @ 3 mins ....

  • Its a littlebit like poly evolver and prophet 08 together sounds really nice I have to decide between this three hmmmmmmm

  • analog is like parthenon in Athens...

    digital is like a scyscraper...

    andromeda i guess is a scyscraper parthenon!!!:P

  • Sit behind a memorymoog and you will take back everything you just said.

The real thing is much better than the mathematical approximation of the real thing.

Velveeta is not as good cheddar.

Digital EG's have more lag time because they must be processed, sent to a DAC, demultiplexed, and the voltages sent to hold circuits. You lose a lot of resolution in that transfer.

It was a compromise made because it was cheaper to build it that way. I work on synths for a living. Ask me a question.

  • Seriously, dont worry about software v's hardware debate.

Software envelopes are transparent, they have no effect on the 'sound' itself. They merely tell the filter/amp what to do over a certain period of time. Software envelopes are alot more powerful, punchy and versatile than true analog ones. Given the Andromeda's feature set and complexity, it would not have made sense to stunt it with simple analog EG's.
