Norfolk COPE Carers Project
Norfolk has approximately 82,000 informal carers providing care to family, friends and neighbours across the county.
This project aims to help these informal carers by responding to their needs for specific training which will enhance their caring skills and reduce the need for unplanned and urgent care.
Additionally, the project aims to improve the morale and well being for both the Cared For and their Carers, and improve the transition to the workplace for those carers who are wishing to return to work.
The project is providing training though the following approaches:
Passport 2 Care course. We are holding a pilot in Swaffham with free transport and replacement care.
Relaxation Toolkit course
An audio CD for dementia carers
Bursaries to help carers take further training
Caring at Home- a Male Perspective (a pilot group of a course for male carers)
A Training Pack -- a one stop shop of information for carers
