http://www.ted.com John Hunter puts all the problems of the world on a 4'x5' plywood board -- and lets his 4th-graders solve them. At TED2011, he explains how his World Peace Game engages schoolkids, and why the complex lessons it teaches -- spontaneous, and always surprising -- go further than classroom lectures can.

Wow this nearly made me cry. I am at the brink of abandoning getting my teachers degree, to become a Buddhist monk, because of how much debt I am accumulating and how hopeless our educational system and society looks, but this video...this video and this man ... and these kids... just filled my heart with so much hope that I may just continue on. Thank you John Hunter!

This is great, connecting the peace makers and creating a Department of Peace, and a Peace Cabinet Post - What If We Spent 1 Trillion A Year On Peace Projects. "Streams of Consciousness Sharing Peace Games Across The Universe. I am amazed and happy we are all on the same stream headed for a giant ocean of peace. Remember Peace produces a 64 Trillion Dollar World Economy, War is just a cost we can't afford. My name is Uncle Steve, Play For Peace At Taokings.Etsy.Com

Can you imagine these 4th graders going from the World Peace Game environment back to classrooms where the teacher lectures and they fill out worksheets, take quizzes and then have a test on Friday? That would be regressive!

You have been listening to the right wing radio station propaganda haven't you, you regurgitated that bullshit word for word. Try thinking for yourself. Obviously the kids themselves are not more wise than he is but seeing how the young unadulterated minds tackle such complex issues has revealed very interesting insights. It is a very positive way to teach critical thinking about all sorts of things. Your whole statement is asinine and shows complete a lack of critical thinking. Shut the fuck up

I can't tell if you are using sarcasm?
This lecture is childish and I'm shocked people are lapping it up. When he says, "Their collective wisdom is much greater than mine and i admit it to them openly", why is he even teaching the class? Egalitarianism in the classroom is regressive. You shouldn't expect a child to have any great wisdom since wisdom can only be learned from time and experience.

If we think like kids how simple and easy the world problems would be to solve.
